Nearly a year after acquiring one of Australia’s leading mining tyre service firms, Kal Tire’s Mining Tire Group will be showcasing how the company is continuing to expand its reach and services for customers from coast to coast at the Asia-Pacific International Mining Exhibition (AIMEX) in Sydney from August 29-31.
“Kal Tire is committed to having a strong presence in the world’s major mining markets, and Australia is an important mining region that we’re investing in,” says Kal Tire Mining Tire Group’s senior vice president Dan Allan. “We see AIMEX as an opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to Australian mining customers and showcase some of our unique capabilities that drive value.”
Kal Tire’s Mining Tire Group has been operating in Western Australia for almost seven years, offering a complete range of tyre service and supply solutions. In 2016, the organisation acquired the mining tyre services business from Australian leader, Klinge & Co, securing Kal Tire’s presence across Australia.
A leader in full service mining tyre management, Kal Tire is also an independent multi-brand dealer able to source the right tyre for the right application. The company specialises in value-added offerings, such as tyre repairs and recycling. In the last two years, Kal Tire has brought more unique solutions to Australia, including two facilities for the exclusive Ultra Repair™ product and process for repairing earthmover tyres with large injuries.
“At AIMEX, we look forward to showcasing the breadth of our ability to serve Australia. We are a global company with 45 years’ experience offering services in more than 20 countries,” says Kal Tire Australia managing director Darren Flint. “That level of expertise and presence means we have resources available when needed, we also have global standards for operating and we bring industry best practice to safety and risk management in all aspects of our services.”
Kal Tire’s Mining Tire Group has also recently expanded its presence in South Africa through the acquisition of the South Africa operations of Tyre Corporation.
“Tyre Corporation is a recognised market leader in underground mining tire services and sales and we’re excited to bring their capabilities and strengths to Kal Tire,” says Dan Allan. “We’ve been building our business in parts of Africa since 2009, but this acquisition goes a long way for us to ensure a long-term sustainable business in South Africa.”
