Austrade is conducting a number of seminars around Australia for companies who are interested in growing their business export to the Philippines. This will be followed by a trade mission to the Philippines in June.
Recent developments in the Philippine mining industry are setting a framework to advance the country's mining industry and signalling that the sector is now on the verge of taking off after a long hiatus.
The Philippine Mines and Geosciences Bureau has indicated that foreign investment in the sector is expected to reach USD$1.6 billion by next year as more projects advance to production stage.
Mining project developments will be showcased at The ASIA Miner Investing in Mining Conference on May 7-8 in Sydney with Philippines Department of Environment and Natural Resources director Horacio Ramos delivering a presentation about the country's re-emergence as a mining investment focus, together with Indophil Resources and ElDore speaking about the development of their two projects - Tampakan and Nalesbitan. A delegation from the Philippines mining sector has also registered to attend this conference to meet with Australian mine supply companies and investors. Following on from The ASIA Miner Investing in Mining conference, Austrade will further help Australian companies to develop their business export potential to the Philippines and lead a trade mission in June to the 7th Asia Pacific Mining Conference and Trade Show. A number of seminars will be held around Australia this month to present more information about the Austrade trade delegation to the Philippines. These will be held from 10am-11.30am Brisbane - April 23; Sydney - April 24; Melbourne - April 26; and 4-5.30pm Perth - April 30.
