PHILIPPINES - Positive gold results from Anoling E-mail

Medusa Mining has received encouraging diamond drill intersections from the Anoling gold project in the Philippines.

Diamond drilling for the Australian-based company along the Hope Vein has returned potentially economic intersections over a strike length of 300 metres and the mineralization is still open at depth and to the east. A shorter strike length of mineralization on the Alcorn Vein has been indicated to date.

Significant diamond drill hole intersections include 17.17 grams/tonne gold from a 4 metre intercept, 13.96 grams/tonne gold from a 2.7 metre intercept and 13.10 grams/tonne gold from a 0.6 metre intercept.

The Anoling project is about 8km by road from the processing plant at the Co-O gold mine and consists of a large number of artisanal workings and old mines dating back to pre-World War II. The veins generally consist of banded quartz-carbonate material within clay-chlorite-pyrite gouge zones with both types of material carrying gold values.

Typical grades are anticipated to be in the 8 to 12 grams/tonne gold range although a 1980s mine at the eastern end of the property is reported to have produced ore at about 30 grams/tonne gold.

Two parallel veins trending westerly have been defined over respective strike lengths of about 650 metres for the Hope Vein and about 750 metres for the Alcorn Vein. Both veins are open to the east.

Within the long strike lengths, drilling and surface sampling has started to define potentially economically mineralized zones. There are also north-east trending vein segments, as was explored in the Alcorn exploratory shaft, but the veins on this orientation appear to have shorter strike lengths than the westerly-trending veins. Indications of other parallel veins have been identified during routine mapping and drilling.
