An excellent opportunity has become available to mining companies with advanced projects, to be in production 6-12 months. General shortages and delayed delivery of plant and equipment components has frustrated project lead times to extending well beyond normal expectations, so the availability of a complete 1.5 million tonnes per annum CIL Gold plant, engineered, packed and sitting on the wharf in a major shipping hub has attracted a lot of attention.

Anglo Asian Mining Plc bought a complete 1.5 million tonnes per annum CIL gold plant for its project in Azerbaijan but due to reassessment of the project and process changes, it is no longer required. Shipping was paused in transit and mining marketing specialist, Minasco Australia, has been appointed to sell the plant at Jurong Port, Singapore.

The plant is dismantled, matchmarked, packed in its own containers and offered with a full engineering package that includes complete crushing and stockpile systems, 3700kW milling through SAG and ball mills with a 2.8 ton Anglo American gold recovery circuit.

Minasco's managing director, Geoff Fields, says, "There are a number of companies showing strong interest for this plant in the first week of release to the market. The present shortage of available secondhand plants is providing excellent results for those with equipment to sell.

"We envisage this demand will continue through next year and are urgently seeking plants of higher capacity in the 2-8 million tonnes per annum range for a number of clients with projects ready to go.

"Market strength is not only being driven by the precious metals sector, but right across the board through base metals as well. In 30 years in the industry we have not seen demand for used equipment at these levels, even the boom years of the 80s don't compare as not all metals were enjoying these levels," Geoff Fields says.
