Editorial and news copy
The Editor of Resource Communications publishers of The ASIA Miner, Yolanda Torrisi, is keen to hear from prospective advertisers who may want to have editorial material included in the magazine, which is not of an advertising nature.
There are two categories of information accepted by the editor:
a. Fee for service information
b. News copy
Fee for service information is information of a general nature about the advertisers, which the advertiser wishes to have written about them. This information is paid for according to the amount of space required.
- 250 words will be ¼ page
- 400 words will be ½ page
- 750 words will be full page
If photos are wanted to be included, then the word count decreases in the space allocated. The information and photographs are to be supplied by the advertiser and the editor reserves the right to edit the copy with final approval given by the advertiser.
News copy is information, which has news value. It has to be worthy of being called news, that is, it is new information. This could include new contracts being won, new equipment purchases, new research methods, basically anything that constitutes something new that is happening with that advertiser.
In this instance an advertiser will have paid for an advertisement, but the news copy is provided free of charge as it will be labelled as news. The advertiser will supply the information, the editor may require further information and photographs to be supplied. The Editor may need to rewrite the news copy to fit the magazine style, however, the advertiser will see a final copy before going to print.
Translations – English to Chinese simplified
As an added service to our advertisers and for all editorial copy, the editorial material is translated from English to Chinese simplified and both the English and Chinese versions of the editorial copy appear on the same page of each magazine, together with any associated photographs.
