For the past six years The ASIA Miner® magazine and electronic news service has broken new ground in the ASIA Pacific mining and resources sector. It has opened new frontiers for mining companies, suppliers and investors wanting to know what opportunities exist beyond their borders.
Yolanda Torrisi had a goal to give the Asia Pacific mining industry a publishing medium. The ASIA Miner® was born - the only bilingual (English and Chinese) magazine exclusively covering the mining and resources sector in this region.
Yolanda's career has taken her from the halls of parliament to behind the microphone of Australia's national broadcaster, donning on hard hat and steel cap boots and travelling to depths below 1km underground in mines from Mount Isa to Mindanao from China to Chile.
Yolanda's working history includes: - starting her career as a political journalist - chief-of-staff and sub-editor at daily newspapers in Queensland, Western Australia and New South Wales. - Author and publisher of a food and recipe book - Flavours of the Four Seasons - ABC Radio food program presenter and Saturday morning ABC radio breakfast host - Mining journalist - Public relations consultant to government and mining companies - Co founder The ASIA Miner™
With her trademark red lipstick and stiletto heels, Yolanda and The ASIA Miner are determined to keep advancing investment in the Asia-Pacific's mining industry and giving companies a platform to grow their business beyond their borders.
