INDONESIA - High grade silver at Batu Jagung

A diamond drill hole has intersected high-grade silver mineralization at the Batu Jagung prospect within Robust Resources’ Lakuwahi project on Romang Island. The near surface intersection is 57 metres @ 85 grams/tonne silver from 8 metres, including 13.2 metres @ 262 grams/tonne silver from 13.8 metres.  1

This is the first drill hole in a series of planned holes designed to explore and delineate the Batu Jagung zone, with seven drill rigs currently on site. Previous drilling by Billiton in 1999 confirmed the zone’s prospectivity with a 51 metre intersection grading 92 grams/tonne silver from 5 metres including a 9 metre section @ 254 grams/tonne silver from 6 metres.

Robust’s geologists are expecting the current drill program will lead to an increase in its precious metals mineral resource estimate at the site. Managing director Gary Lewis says “These new drill results are very encouraging as they continue the company’s strong record of discovery and success. We are confident that following a systematic drilling program, this prospect will be a major contributor to a substantial increase in our initial 1.8 million ounce gold equivalent JORC resource inventory.”

He says the active exploration program coupled with a motivated and influential local partner will progress the project’s development. Robust has announced similar recent success at Batu Perak, Batu Mas and Batu Hitam which Gary Lewis says further reaffirms the region’s significant mineralization.
