EVENTS - One month until MINExpo

With just four weeks until MINExpo 2012 kicks off in Las Vegas, organizers have announced this year’s event is already 40% bigger than the 2008 forum. More than 1800 exhibitors will showcase the latest products and services, solutions and demonstrations across 12 exhibit halls in the Las Vegas Convention Centre from September 24-26.

Delegates will be able to see first-hand the latest technology, equipment, components, parts and services for exploration, extraction, safety, environmental remediation and preparation and processing of metallic ores, coal and industrial minerals.

The US Commerce department has also chosen the event to participate in the International Buyer Program (BIP), which allows international delegates to facilitate partnerships between show exhibitors and buyers who want to grow their businesses. The BIP will specifically match areas of interest and products to a customer’s needs and make direct contact with the exhibitor ahead of their arrival.

Keynote speakers at the three-day event include Peabody Energy chairman Gregory Boyce, National Mining Association president Hal Quinn and Joy Global’s president Michael Sutherlin.

The education program agenda will feature 20 sessions tackling the most pressing issues affecting the mining industry to help delegates get ahead of the global changes and developments.

Attendees will also witness the latest in the industry’s largest equipment; in automation and robotics; safety and communications equipment; longwall mining equipment; engines and parts; materials handling and processing equipment and services; pollution control equipment; reclamation equipment and services as well as computer applications.
