LAOS – Argonaut MREAs extended

Mineral Reconnaissance and Exploration Agreements (MREA) for Argonaut Resources’ Century and Xekong projects in Laos have been extended for a further three years.
The MREAs were extended by the Government of the People’s Democratic Republic of Lao.
The government also extended by three years the Foreign Investment Licences for Argonaut’s two Laotian subsidiary companies, Argonaut Resources (Laos) Co (ARE 70%) and Xekong River Mining Co. Argonaut holds 70% of the former and 65% of the latter.
The three year MREA period comprises two years of exploration phase activities and one year for the preparation of a Feasibility Study. Both phases can be extended by agreement with the Lao Government.
Argonaut has commissioned CSA Global’s director/principal consultant Dr Neal Reynolds to undertake a full review of all existing exploration data from the Century and Xekong projects and to provide a strategy for future exploration works.
