MALAYSIA - Grange starts mining in Malaysia

Grange Resources has started mining at the Bukit Ibam Iron Ore Mine, which is located in Pahang State, Malaysia.

Grange Minerals Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned Malaysian subsidiary of Grange Resources, is earning 51% equity in the Bukit Ibam iron ore project, by funding mine development with Esperance Mining Sdn Bhd.

Ore is expected to be delivered to the processing plant in the coming weeks, with the initial production rate targeted at 20,000 tonnes/month. Early production will be sold to local iron ore consumers.

Grange managing director Geoff Wedlock says: "Commencing operations at Bukit Ibam provides Grange with an early cash flow to support its Malaysian activities. It also strengthens our operational presence in Malaysia which provides a platform to better evaluate new opportunities as they arise."
