Austrade"s Jakarta office will host the Australian Mining and Petroleum Exhibition 2007 at the JW Marriott Hotel in Jakarta from January 30-31.

This is the first exhibition since 1997 that Australia has mounted such an event.

This exhibition aims to progress momentum and increase mining industry activities in Indonesia while at the same time further promote Australian capabilities in servicing the mining and petroleum industry.

More than 25 Australian companies will participate in the exhibition. These include mining companies and providers of products and services to mining and petroleum industry.

The exhibition is supported by industry associations including the Indonesian Mining Association, Indonesian Mining Professionals Association and Indonesian Association of Geologists.

The exhibition will also feature a two day seminar with presentations from industry acclaimed speakers, executives and high ranking government officials.

The two day seminar is structured into four main topics including: Legal aspects of Indonesia 's mining industry"; Environmentally-friendly mining operations; Mining economics; and Mining technology".

The conference program aims to bring the mining community up-to-date with current mining industry growth in Indonesia .
