IRON ORE - 45% increase in Marillana sector estimate E-mail

An initial resource estimate for the North-West Sector of Brockman Resources Marillana Iron Ore Project shows 43.5 million tonnes of ore grading 57.6% iron, a 45% increase on the previous mineralization estimate.

The estimate was made following completion of the initial RC drilling programme at Marillana, which also identified significant new mineralization at Rockhole Bore and Abalone.

Beneficiation test work has demonstrated that simple screening and gravity separation can upgrade the shallow, low grade detrital mineralization to a grade of more than 59% iron, thereby creating a potentially significant additional source of marketable ore.

Samples tested comprise sonic core samples of lower grade detrital mineralization which is additional to and overlies the higher grade Channel Iron Deposit (CID) mineralization that forms the basis of the Indicated Mineral Resource for the North-West Sector.

An upgraded resource estimate for the Marillana Project is expected this month while the findings of a Scoping Study are expected at the end of March.

Brockman was formerly known as Yilgarn Mining with the name changed to the company's annual general meeting on November 15, 2007.

The company is negotiating to secure a Caldwell drilling rig to obtain large bulk samples of detrital mineralization from the Rockhole Bore and Abalone prospects for pilot scale test work. Detrital mineralization in these areas is much shallower than at the North-West Sector, making them amenable to Caldwell drilling. The deposits of detrital mineralization in these areas represent a significant potential resource.

Rockhole Bore is about 2km to the south-east of the North-West Sector resource while the Abalone Prospect is further to the east. An Aboriginal Heritage Survey has been completed to facilitate continued exploration in this area and an extensive programme of RC drilling is scheduled to begin in early March.
