PHILIPPINES - Contained nickel resource up 163% E-mail

A new resource estimate for Rusina Mining’s Acoje and Zambales Chromite Mining Corporation (ZCMC) projects in the Philippines has increased the contained nickel resource by 163%.

The estimate is for the nickel limonite and saprolite resource at the Acoje Project and a nickel laterite resource at the ZCMC Project. Both projects are in close proximity on the west coast of Luzon, 250km north of Manila.

The combined Indicated and Inferred JORC Resource estimate is 72 million tonnes grading 1.15% nickel and 0.06% cobalt, representing 830,000 tonnes of contained nickel.

This is an increase of 163% in contained nickel from the February 2007 resource estimate and follows completion of an extensive saprolite drilling program at Acoje and the evaluation of the recently acquired ZCMC Project. The resource estimate was undertaken independently by SRK Consultants, Perth.

The resource for the Acoje Nickel Laterite has been re-estimated, using all drill holes and test pits available.

With the ZCMC tenements there is no geological logging available and the mineralization was interpreted as a single zone. Data used for ZCMC was based on 343 test pits and 66 auger holes conducted by Falconbridge in the 1970s in addition to 54 new test pits excavated by Rusina. The company plans to drill the ZCMC property to achieve indicated status and test for possible saprolite ore beneath the previous test pitting.
