MOVERS AND SHAKERS - Uranium One appoints Australian manager E-mail

Uranium One, the Toronto-listed uranium exploration company, underpinned its Australasian ambitions by appointing a new head of its Australian operations.

Greg Cochran, formerly of Mitsubishi Development (Pty) Limited, will become executive vice president, Australia and Asia , Uranium One.

Greg Cochran will be based in Adelaide , South Australia and will be responsible for leading the growth of Uranium One"s Australasian operations, including its Honeymoon Uranium Project in South Australia .

Greg Cochran was responsible for global uranium and metallurgical and thermal coal business development activities at Mitsubishi Development. He previously worked for Billiton .

Two new executives for Emperor Mines

Emperor Mines Limited, Australia 's third largest gold producer, has appointed Frazer Bourchier, general manager of the Vatukoula Gold Mine in Fiji and John Wallace general manager human resources, based in the company's corporate office in Brisbane.

Frazer Bourchier and John Wallace worked at the Porgera joint venture in Papua New Guinea , as mining manager and alternate general manager and HR manager respectively.

Emperor Mines Limited is a gold producer focused on the Australasian and Pacific rim region. Emperor owns interests in three operating gold mines: 20% of the Porgera joint venture in PNG, one of the world's largest gold mines; 100% of the Vatukoula Gold Mine at Fiji and 100% of the Tolukuma Gold Mine in PNG.

The company currently produces approximately 350,000 ounces of gold annually.
