Central Asia - Kentor Gold hopeful of Kumtor-style find E-mail
Recent drill-testing and analysis at Kentor Gold"s Kyrgyz Republic tenements are indicating that the tenements are on the trend hosting the multi-million dollar ounce deposits of the neighbouring Kumtor gold mine.

Independent analysis in Australia confirmed the company's own findings that four high priority gold-tungsten anomalies in the Akbel site in the Ertash Licence warranted drilling.

Kentor Gold is exploring on the highly prospective Tien Shan belt in the Kyrgyz Republic in Central Asia . Kentor is undertaking an aggressive gold exploration program around the Centerra-owned Kumtor Gold Mine and an active and successful project generation program in other areas of the Kyrgyz Republic .

Managing director David Royle told the company's annual general meeting recently, "We have two distinct corridors to focus our drilling within and we are very confident we have the chance of success within those belts."

"We are really focused on the prize and the prize is a multi-million ounce gold deposit of Kumtor-style within that trend and indeed elsewhere along the Bashkol trend further to the northeast.

"In the Bashkol licence, where we are planning to do quite a bit of work this year, we will be following up multiple anomalous gold drainages that trend along the zone coming from Kumtor."

David Royle says thick glacial cover has provided unexpected challenging drilling conditions this year. High water flow and loose sand has slowed progress in reaching bedrock under the moraine.

To progress at a faster rate, the company is bringing in a 1500 RD rig towards the end of the year, which has a much bigger capacity than the current 850 RD rig.

"We are also pleased we have engaged an experienced international driller, Henry Vox, known as the 'Red Adair' of hard rock drilling in the world. He will be helping us with our drilling program, particularly in getting through the most difficult holes."

The company will be evaluating the results of recent drill testing at Uzunbulak, and this month will undertake a detailed field assessment at Barkol and Karabalta.

"Elsewhere through our project generation work we have managed to pick up two new very interesting projects in the southern part of the country in East Koksu and Za-alai, and we will investigate those this year, probably in August and September."
