Indophil Resources has appointed Xstrata Copper"s chief financial officer Louis Irvine to its board.

Xstrata holds an option to acquire a 62.5% interest in the large Tampakan copper-gold deposit in the Philippines .

The Tampakan project is located on the southern-most island of the Philippines , Mindanao . It has a measured, indicated and inferred resourceof 1.34 billion tonnes containing 8.9 million tonnes of copper and 11.6 million ounces of gold.
