New manager at Coffey Mining Coffey Mining has appointed Hamish McLeod as mining business manager. Hamish McLeod will further establish Coffey"s mining engineering business in Australia . He will also contribute his extensive expertise in metalliferous mining through the company"s technical consulting service.
Furthermore, Coffey Mining has acquired specialist Brisbane-based mining engineering consultancy Tennent Isokangas to continue to grow its mining engineering team." In the past Tennent Isokangas directors have been very active in educating and training young mining professionals through their involvement with the University of Queensland and Coffey Mining will further this activity training young mining professionals and helping to address the skills shortage. New director at Rio Tinto Michael Fitzpatrick has been appointed as an independent, non-executive director of Rio Tinto and Rio Tinto Limited. Michael Fitzpatrick, 53, holds honours degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Western Australia and in arts from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar. He recently sold his interest in, and stopped his directorship of Hastings Funds Management Ltd, the pioneering infrastructure asset management company which he founded in 1994. |
