Dynasty makes new board appointment Avocet CEO and executive director John Catchpole has has been appoin ted to the Dynasty board of directors following Avocet regional director Jay Layman"s resignation.
John Catchpole was appointed CEO of Avocet in August 2000, having previously been finance director since January 1999. He has more than 15 years of mining finance management experience at the Bank of New York, Westpac, and UBS, and before joining Avocet was a managing director at ING Capital. Before his banking career he worked as a mining engineer in management at New Jersey Zinc Co and Exxon Minerals. F ormer Placer Dome Asia Pacific staffer Genesio Circosta has been appointed Magnus China exploration vice president of Exploration in China . Genesio Circosta has has more than 20 years experience as an exploration geologist and exploration manager on a large number of projects ranging from grass-roots and generative projects to advanced delineation projects. His previous experience includes more than 17 years of project management and generative exploration for the Placer Dome Asia Group, within China , Australia , Papua New Guinea , The Philippines and Indonesia , with a focus on gold projects but also including exploration for copper-gold, lead-zinc and mineral sands. Genesio Circosta has spent the last 2½ years working mainly with Placer Dome ( China ) Ltd, managing Placer's exploration and generative activities within China and Asia . Magnus International Resources is engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of mineral properties in China , focusing primarily on gold and copper properties. Magnus currently retains a potential 90% interest in two Sino-foreign gold joint venture exploration projects. The Huidong property is north-west of and on trend with South-western Resources' Boka gold project. The Mangshi project is located within the 40km Luxi Gold Belt in western Yunnan province. |
