CHINA - Sino Gold starts CIL tailings dam discharge E-mail

Following a satisfactory review by the relevant authorities, Sino Gold has started discharging to the CIL tailings dam at the Jinfeng gold project in China.

It is anticipated that gold can now be produced at commercial rates of production as the plant is steadily ramped up to design throughput and capacity.

Jinfeng has a resource of 28.6 million tonnes at 5 grams/tonne gold for 4.6 million ounces of contained gold. An upgraded reserves statement is expected in the next few weeks.

The project is one of the largest gold mines in China and initial production is expected to be 180,000 tonnes per annum with plans to ramp this up to 1.5 million tonnes.
