MOVERS & SHAKERS – Rob Thomson farewells Vietnam for family E-mail

Asian Mineral Resources has appointed Collin Ellis as its new CEO, replacing Sydney-based Rob Thomson who will remain as a company director.

Rob Thomson says: "With Asian Mineral Resources going well on our 90% owned Ban Phuc nickel/copper development in Vietnam, including financing, completion of government approvals, near completion of the build-up of the Vietnam operations team led by Hanoi-based Rob Guest, site construction and underground development well underway, and resumption of exploration, this affords the opportunity to hand the baton to a new Toronto-based CEO, Collin Ellis, to continue the corporate development of the company from our Canadian domain.

“As a founding director in 2004 I am pleased to continue working with the Board on increasing shareholder value as Ban Phuc becomes a producer in first half of 2009.

“On a personal note after being heavily involved for the last 12 years in four Asian exploration/development projects that have gone into construction/operation - Chatree in Thailand, Sepon in Laos, Didipio in the Philippines and now Ban Phuc - it is timely to reduce travel and smell the roses in Sydney with my family.

“Unlike some previous years my Christmas plans this year don’t include being top of tanks during a commissioning."
