MOVERS & SHAKERS – New China Goldmines chairman E-mail

China Goldmines has appointed Lance Browne as chairman following the retirement Clive Donner.

Lance Browne was previously a non executive director of the company.

Clive Donner has been chairman of the company since February 2006 and has been instrumental in the initial process of listing the company and steering the business towards its current position as a gold producer. Due to time constraints he decided to step down as chairman but will remain a non-executive director.

China Goldmines CEO Frank Vanspeybroeck says: “Clive Donner has made an outstanding contribution to the company since its listing, providing strong board leadership during a critical period in the company’s development. The board would also like to take this opportunity to welcome Lance Browne as chairman.”

Lance Browne, who is based in Shanghai, China, was previously CEO, then chairman and is now vice-chairman of Standard Chartered Bank in China, where he has lived since 1979 working in engineering and finance. He is chairman of the China Advisory Board of IMI and an advisory board director of G3 (Good Governance Group). He is also a director of the China Britain Business Council, vice chairman of the 48 Group and a board member of the Oxford University Inter-University China Centre.
