PNG - New Guinea Gold Sinivit project progressing well E-mail

New Guinea Gold (NGG) is continuing to progress towards processing and gold extraction on its Sinivit project 50 km south-south-west Rabaul in East New Britain Province , Papua New Guinea .

The initial vats will be filled in mid March with commissioning of the production circuit and gold production will start in early April.

It is expected to take three months from commencement of commissioning to build up to the projected production rate of 35,000 ounces/year of gold. All major equipment and key personnel are on site, all permits such as cyanide use and explosive licences are in place and infrastructure and roads are essentially complete.

The final shipment of key chemicals used in gold extraction is being undertaken this month.

Grade control drilling is well advanced with excellent initial results from bulldozer trenching of the mineralized zone after stripping of surface waste. Trench results included 13 metres at 13.59 grams/tonne gold (with a high 1 metre at 90 grams/tonne gold).

This confirmed that gold previously intersected in drillholes extends to the present surface. Exploration drilling to increase the total resource at Sinivit has started and will continue throughout 2007. www.newguineagold.ca
