Drilling at Kentor Gold’s Savoyardy gold project in the Kyrgyz Republic continues to produce good results. A further 12 diamond drill holes have been completed, which brings the total metres drilled in the past 12 months to 1030 metres, achieving the company’s commitments to the Kyrgyz Government and its joint venture partner Perseus Mining.
The latest drilling included intersections of 4.3 metres @ 27.7 grams/tonne gold from 38.7 metres down hole, 4.2 metres @14.38 grams/tonne gold from 52.0 metres down hole, 15 metres @ 14.2 grams/tonne gold from 21.0 metres down hole, and 6.5 metres @ 7.9 grams/tonne gold from 50.5 metres down hole. The drilling program has been suspended due to the harsh winter conditions and the steep topography of the area making it impossible to continue. Drilling will resume from surface as soon as weather conditions permit, probably during the second quarter. Rehabilitation of an exploration adit has continued with the mining contractor completing the draining of the main adit at Savoyardy. Rail lines, ventilation, compressed air, power, water and lighting are being installed. Contracts have been negotiated and signed to undertake about 100 metres of development underground. This will provide access for drill cuddies to be able to conduct 2000 metres of diamond drilling from underground this year. www.kentorgold.com.au |
