Mindoro Resources has appointed Rob Garden, QC, as company chairman. The appointment follows the resignation of Dr Gerhard Kirchner, who remains an active director of the company and continues to play a valuable role in advising the company on technical matters.
Mindoro president Tony Climie says: "We are very grateful to Gerhard for his dedication to the company as chairman over the past three years and look forward to his continued contributions as a director. "We are equally pleased to welcome Rob Garden to his new role. Since becoming a director of Mindoro in October 2005, Rob has proven himself a capable leader and an avid supporter of the company." Rob Garden, a resident of Calgary, was for many years a senior partner with the law firm MacPherson Leslie & Tyerman and is now counsel to that firm. He has more than 32 years of experience in his primary areas of practice - natural resources law, labor and employment law, and administrative law. He has extensive experience in the mining industry, having served as general counsel for German mining corporation Uranerz Exploration and Mining where he negotiated a number of exploration joint venture agreements with major international corporations. He also negotiated a number of commercial contracts relating to the construction of the Key Lake uranium mine and mill in northern Saskatchewan. Rob Garden has also acted as corporate secretary to several corporations and mining joint ventures. He serves as corporate secretary to the management committee of the Cigar Lake Joint Venture and as a director of Golden Band Resources, a Canadian exploration company based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. www.mindoro.com
