Moly Mines has made a number of technical appointments to the management team for the Spinifex Ridge molybdenum/copper project. Michael Gloyne has been appointed assistant to the general manager and manager mining.
Mike Gloyne will assist general manager Collis Thorp to coordinate the various engineering and technical disciplines contributing to the Spinifex Ridge feasibility study with an immediate focus on the final mine design, ore scheduling and the major earthworks for plant and mine construction. Justin Scott, Mine Planning Engineer, has also joined the technical mining team. Justin will be working on the optimization and scheduling of the Spinifex Ridge mining operations. David Pass joins Moly Mines as metallurgy manager. Graeme Kininmonth joins Moly Mines as health, safety and environment manager. Graeme joins at a critical time in the approvals process for Spinifex Ridge with the Public Environmental Review document due for release. Bruce Morrin has resigned from the Board of Moly Mines due to his increasing executive commitments with Monarch Gold Mining Limited.
South China appoints executive director
South China Resources has appointed Dr David Tyrwhitt to the Board as executive director. Dr DAvid Tyrwhitt was the founding CEO of Newmont Australia and was responsible for the inception and expansion of production at the Telfer gold mine from 500,000 tonnes per annum to 2 million tonnes per annum. Prior to this he held several senior positions within Newmont worldwide, including director of exploration Australia, exploration manager Eastern USA and exploration manager South East Asia. After leaving Newmont in 1988, Dr Tyrwhitt became CEO of Ashton Mining, Australia's largest diamond company before it was taken over by Rio Tinto. He then headed up a joint venture of Normandy Mining Australia and Anglo American exploring in South East Asia, with a focus on Indonesia and Laos. Since then Dr David Tyrwhitt has been actively consulting in the Asia Pacific region with particular emphasis on China. He has worked closely with Robert Friedland in China, including evaluating copper porphyry deposits in Tibet, and has also worked with several Australian groups elsewhere in the country. |
