Is a leading South African based international Project Management and Mineral Process Plants Design Company executing various medium and large mining projects. We are seeking Design Engineers specializing in conveyors and materials handling design and drawings for our DRA India Office in VALLABH VIDYANAGAR - GUJARAT . The office is located in the buildings of Elecon Engineering who is a partner in DRA India.

DRA Mineral Projects is a newly registered detail design, project management and engineering company in India .
To prepare DRA India to execute projects in Asia the company is embarking on a recruitment and development program to mobilize a core team of self-motivated, enthusiastic professionals in India .
The positions will be both demanding and rewarding as it will involved all engineering aspects of process plant design, project management, construction and commissioning.
Mineral processing experience in design and operations must relate to coal, precious metals, diamonds, base metals and heavy minerals. Cognisance will also be given to project experience gained from the petrochemical, pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical heavy industries, but pharmaceutical and cosmetic industrial experience will definitely be regarded as not suitable.

The successful incumbents will be seconded for one to two years single status at DRA Mineral Projects to Johannesburg , South Africa . They will form part of current project teams, where they will not only function technically but they will undergo training to ensure that they are familiar with the functionality of the DRA Group, after which they will return to India where they will operate from the DRA Office situated at Anand, Gujarat.

The following opportunities are available to candidates with relevant experience:

Senior Design Engineer Conveyors and Material Handling
(5 years minimum relevant experience)

The Engineer's duties include the management of a group of approximately 20 draftsmen in 2007 and approximately 40 draftsmen in 2008, liaison with DRA Head Office in South Africa and Consulting Engineers in Vadodara to generate quality designs and drawings to the required standards and specifications.

The successful candidate's duties also include preparation of engineering drawings, layouts, belt profiles and detailed material handling drawings for platinum, coal and diamond and other beneficiation plants. He must have good mineral processing plant design skills, knowledge of mechanical equipment and experience in structural/mechanical layouts with a suitable structural/technical qualification. Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD 2D is essential and knowledge of 3D, AutoPLANT Structural and Bentley Explorer software will be an advantage.

Civil & Structural Engineer
Minimum requirements:

Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institute.

Minimum 5-10 years work experience within a design or project environment, involved in industrial concrete, geotechnical, building or steel structures.

Responsibilities:

Conceptual design of civil and infrastructure cope of a new or Brownfields project

Management of detail design of civil and infrastructure scope from founding solution to detail engineering of industrial concrete.

Management and control of specialists including geotechnical engineers, architects, surveyors, QS and the like.

Reviewing civil drawings, advising on aspects of design and constructability.

Involvement with civil construction and contract management.

Review and advice on on-site construction and problem-solving.

Management and coordination of establishment of earthworks and civil contractors on site.

Regular site visits

Ensuring that all relevant works are completed as per the project program.

Electrical Engineer
Minimum requirements:

Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institute

Minimum 5-10 years work experience within a design and project management in high tension environment.

Responsibilities:

Writing specifications (equipment and switchgear)

Fault current calculations

Motor protection & cable sizing

Equipment & plant earthing systems

Medium voltage design (88kV to 1kV)

Low voltage detailed design

Site commissioning

Instrumentation & Control Engineer

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor degree in instrumentation and Control engineering from a recognized institute.

Minimum 5-10 years work experience within a design and project management in low tension environment

Piping & instrumentation diagrams

Functional specifications

Instrument design packages (Intools, Autoplant, etc)

Instrument data sheets and procurement

Detailed instrument design

Instrument project management

Instrument team management

Site commissioning

Mechanical project engineer/project manager
Minimum requirements:

Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute.

Minimum 5-10 years work experience as a project engineer/project manager, preferable in mining projects.

Responsibilities

As a project engineer/project manager, taking a lead role working on surface or underground projects, your duties will include, but are not limited to, the management, design, engineering, procurement, planning, expediting, cost control and coordination of various mineral processing plant projects.

Process Engineer
Minimum requirements:

Bachelor degree in chemical engineering or M Tech in Mineral Processing or M Tech in Chemical Engineering from a recognized institute.

Minimum 5-10 years work experience in mineral processing specifically in plant design and plant operations. Laboratory skills are not a requirement for this position. The incumbent process engineer will be responsible for the following:

Responsibilities:

Sizing of equipment pertaining to crushing, milling, flotation, gravity concentration, dense media separation and solid liquid separation.

Producing process flow sheets with mass balances

Compiling piping & instrumentation diagrams

Describing process control philosophy

Designing slurry pumping systems

Commissioning and optimizing process plants

Senior design engineers/draftsmen structural steel

Three (3) year Contract in South Africa (5 years minimum experience)

The engineer's/draftsman's main duties will be the drawing of structural steel arrangements for mineral process plants.

The Engineer/draftsman will base his drawings on plant layouts done by the DRA Design Office and structural consultant design sheets showing structural steel member sizes and special connections.

Candidate must have good knowledge of 2D AutoCAD and knowledge of the Bentley AUTOPLANT Structural 3D Package will be an advantage.

General:

Air flights to and from South Africa will be paid subject to agreed conditions.
Accommodation and transport in South Africa will be provided.

The successful candidates will be employed by DRA India and seconded for approximately three (3 years) to the DRA Minerals Projects office in Johannesburg, South Africa.

All candidates should have good command of the English language with excellent administrative and interpersonal skills as well as a flair for team work.

A remuneration package commensurate with qualifications and experience will be negotiated with successful candidates. The candidates must be physically able and medically fit.

A delegate from the DRA Mineral Projects South Africa office will be in New Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai during the month of November to conduct interviews with successful candidates.
