The first load of zinc concentrate from Jabiru Metals" Jaguar operation has been shipped from Geraldton in Western Australia.

The shipment of about 5400 tonnes (wet) of zinc concentrate left in October bound for China. The concentrate was shipped from Oxiana's Geraldton port facilities.

Jabiru managing director Gary Comb says: "Jabiru's agreement with Oxiana has provided significant marketing and shipping advantages resulting in a ready market for Jaguar concentrate at highly commercial terms as well as efficient loading and shipping processes.

"This accomplishment early in the ramp-up phase of the Jaguar operation is a further achievement and highlights the readily saleable nature of the Jaguar concentrate produced as well as the value of our arrangement with Oxiana."
