ZINC - New drilling program at Emull E-mail

Northern Star Resources will begin a new drilling program at its emerging Emull Zinc/Copper Project in Western Australia"s East Kimberley region after the latest round of drilling returned further high-grade assay results and identified a potential strike extension of the mineralized zone.

A recently completed 1211 metres, 13-hole RC drilling program included an intercept of 10 metres @ 5.81% zinc and 0.51% copper from 13 metres within a broader intercept of 30 metres @ 2.73% zinc and 0.43% copper from surface within the southern shoot.

Higher grade mineralization was also returned in the Western Shoot, with an intersection of 8 metres @ 2.07% zinc and 0.69% copper from 35 metres including 2 metres @ 4.98% zinc and 0.87% copper from 39 metres.

Northern Star's managing director Bill Beament says the Western Shoot intercept highlights the potential for a significant strike extension of the mineralization in the newly identified Western area.

"The results of the recent drilling have now confirmed the extent of the near-surface high-grade mineralization, which is hosted within at least three separate shoots within a 500 metre long mineralized trend which we believe could be amenable to open cut mining.

"We are very pleased with the way that this project is developing and have committed to start a new phase of drilling which will test the depth continuity of this extensive zone of near-surface mineralization as we have only drilled 100m below surface to date.

"The combination of the recent and forthcoming drilling, combined with historic drill intercepts, should enable us to move towards a scoping study to assess the economic viability of the project during 2008," he added.
