CHINA-AUSTRALIA-HONG KONG - Sino Gold seeks to list on HKSE E-mail

Sino Gold Limited is seeking to list on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and has appointed Morgan Stanley Dean Witter as financial advisor for the proposed listing.

The application process is expected to take a number of months.

Sino Gold chief executive officer Jake Klein says a listing on the HKSE is logical given Sino Gold's geographic focus on China.

"There are currently only two HKSE-listed companies with gold mining operations in China and both have generated significant investor interest. "

"This listing would provide access to investors who will appreciate the opportunity presented by our strategic position as the major foreign gold company in China's gold industry. China is already the world's fourth largest gold producing country and will undoubtedly become increasingly important to the global gold sector.

"We believe the timing is right to list on the HKSE as our Jinfeng Mine commences commercial gold production in the first quarter 2007. Once in production, it will be China's second largest gold mine and will underpin our future profitability.

"Morgan Stanley has an excellent track record for successful listings on the HKSE and we look forward to working with them over the coming months."

About Sino Gold

Sino Gold has been active in China since 1996 and listed on the Australian Stock Exchange since 2002.

The Jianchaling Mine produced approximately 450,000 ounces of gold for the company from 1998 to 2006.

The company is now developing the Jinfeng Mine in Guizhou Province that is expected to start commercial gold production in the March 2007 quarter. With resources of 4.0 million ounces and reserves of 2.9 million ounces contained, Jinfeng will be a major, long-life operation.

Sino Gold has demonstrated capability to gain approvals for, and to successfully develop, gold projects in China.

Sino Gold is a growth gold company that is actively pursuing a discovery and acquisition strategy. With a "first mover" advantage, it holds a strong competitive position in China.
