Patent pending for underground coal communications and tracking system

Active Control Technology has filed for patent protection for its new ActiveMine™ technology solution, a 100% wireless communications and locating system for underground miners.

The patent protection was filed worldwide for both the ActiveMine technology system and method.

ActiveMine is patent pending and is the first fully integrated, 100% wireless solution recently made possible by the commercial availability of new technologies. ActiveMine is designed to improve underground mining safety and enhance operating efficiencies through wireless, real-time electronic tracking of personnel and equipment, and robust two-way voice communications with each miner.

The system was successfully demonstrated in an Illinois coal mine in August.
