Sparton Resources has appointed Jocelyn Cote as chief financial officer, bringing more than 20 years of academic and industry experience in the financial sector to the company.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in finance, from the University of Sherbrooke and a Canadian Securities Certificate.

From 1989 until 2000 he held senior positions with Credit Lyonnais, domestically, in Europe and in the United States, including the post of vice-president corporate banking. More recently he held the position of vice-president finance and administration for Aecon Group, a major civilian contracting organization involved in many major construction projects in various parts of Canada and elsewhere.

Jocelyn Cote is past president and director of Melkior Resources, a Canadian junior exploration company, and is president of Capital Production, a management consulting company specializing in institutional debt and equity financing, and financial control management.
