AUSTRALIA - PMA enters Geraldton iron ore alliance E-mail

Precious Metals Australia Limited has joined the Western Australia-based Geraldton Iron Ore Alliance.

Membership of the Alliance has grown to seven and further strengthened the participation by Mid West resources companies in developing a coordinated approach to common-user infrastructure in the region.

PMA's core asset is its 100%-owned Windimurra vanadium project, located 600km north-east of Perth near the town of Mt Magnet, which contains the largest reported vanadium proven ore reserve in the world. PMA is currently redeveloping the Windimurra mine at an estimated cost of $175 million.

Once the Windimurra project is in production, some 3.25 million tonnes per year of ore will be treated to produce 1 million tonnes per year of magnetite concentrate grading approximately 57% iron as a by-product of vanadium and titanium production.
