Aquila Resources has appointed Kevin Watters iron ore development manager. He will take up the role from November.

Kevin Watters formerly Portman Limited general manager projects and engineering.

Kevin Watters experience in the resources industry includes senior roles in mining operations, mineral processing and related infrastructure management.

More recently his work has included the coordination of feasibility studies relating to the expansion and optimisation of iron ore infrastructure projects.

New vice-president at SNC-Lavalin

Michael Day has been appointed SNC-Lavalin Australia senior vice-president and managing director.

Michael Day will be based in Perth , Western Australia , and will be responsible for managing and expanding SNC-Lavalin's business in Australia and South-East Asia .

He has more than 30 years' experience in project and construction management on significant international mining and heavy industrial projects. As senior vice-president mining and metallurgy, Michael Day was responsible for SNC-Lavalin's mining and metallurgy business units in Toronto, Vancouver, South America, and South Africa, as well its sulfuric acid plant design and construction group, Fenco Engineers and Constructors.
