Industrial hospitality provider Morris Corporation is ranked 39 in the Top 400 Private Queensland Companies and has been acknowledged as one of the state"s leaders in the private sector at the 2007 Queensland Business Summit.

The company, which has commercial ventures throughout Australia and remote contract sites worldwide, jumped almost 100 places.

Morris chief executive officer Fiona Berkin was ecstatic with the ranking, saying, "It's an outstanding result; a true reflection of the company's overall performance last year. Next year our aim is to be in the top 10!"

Morris Corporation provides industrial hospitality services like catering, accommodation, cleaning and maintenance to the mining, defence and civil construction industries. It also offers consultancy services on facilities management feasibility, planning and implementation.

Contract projects include mine sites for Xstrata Coal, Oxiana, Resolute and FMG which involve the supervision of infrastructure requirements to create a remote location township, from construction to administration of all facets of services related to the township's operation.

Morris Corporation has been the industrial hospitality service provider for projects such as the US$200 million United Nations contract for camps in Cambodia and Somalia, Operation Iraqi Freedom and East Timor, and is in negotiations with the US military over the recently awarded multi-million dollar contract to provide services in Baghdad.
