Australia’s Perth-based Fission Energy has made its maiden foray into foreign expansion, securing three gold and base metals exploration licences in Cambodia. The company has signed agreements with two Cambodian miners, Angkor Thmorpich Resources and Wild Bull Resources, to acquire the licences which cover 430sqkm in the largely unexplored western region of the country.
Eldorado Gold has been carrying out exploration drilling at its Chinese projects and prospects with work done in the Guizhou, Jilin, and Qinghai regions. In Guizhou, exploration drilling was conducted within the Jinfeng mining licence, at the nearby Shizhu prospect, and at the Weiruo prospect of the Jinluo exploration licence.
Goldrea Resources has begun negotiations for the sale of its 90% interest in the Rushan/Goldrea gold property in China’s prolific gold producing Shandong province. The company has invested $9.5 million into the project through trenching, geochemical and geophysical surveying, diamond drilling, construction of a mine shaft and mapping, but has now redirected its focus to its North American projects.
