East Asia Minerals has signed an agreement with a former Indonesian Governor and Minister to act as the company’s strategic advisor for its Indonesian assets. Dr Fadel Muhammad is well-known in Indonesian business and political sectors, being the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries until recently and previously serving as the Governor of Gorontalo province in Sulawesi.
He has also held the Vice-President’s position of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and currently owns the GMEA Group of companies which has interests in manufacturing, fabrication, oilfield services and publishing.
East Asia’s chief executive officer Edward Rochette says, “In his advisory role Bapak Dr Fadel will provide invaluable assistance to enable the projects in Indonesia to move forward in a timely and sustainable manner. We are very pleased to have Bapak Fadel advising the company and look forward to working with him in this new role.”
In consideration for his services to the company Dr Fadel Muhammad may be granted stock options of the company in the future.
Canadian explorers East Asia Minerals has a 70% to 85% interest in three advanced gold and gold-copper properties located in Aceh Province, Sumatra, and Sangihe Island, North Sulawesi.
