Corporate social responsibility (CSR) will be the headline topic of discussion at the Women in Resources Victoria (WiRV) association’s sold-out Christmas in July forum in Melbourne on July 26. An expert panel will discuss environmental sustainability, workforce diversity and community perceptions of the resources sector at the event, with an interactive Q&A session afterwards.
Guest speakers confirmed for the forum include Monash University’s senior lecturer and researcher in civil engineering Gavin Mudd, Dr Katie Spearritt who is the managing director of Diversity Partners, and senior consultant of the Australia Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility, Sara Bice.
WiRV president Melanie McCarthy says, “WiRV is fostering support for members in the resources industry by running networking events such as this that create connections and mentoring opportunities. This forum will see delegates reflect about where corporate social responsibility is now, and what is possible for the future in the resources industry.”
The Christmas-themed forum will be held at Melbourne’s World Trade Centre on the Yarra River.
WiRV supports women working in water, energy, minerals and natural resources management through influence and advocacy, professional development, access to mentoring relationships and networking.
