The resource at Bauxite Resources’ Felicitas deposit in the Darling Range of Western Australia has been ugraded. It now contains 147.9 million measured, indicated and inferred tonnes, up from the previous 127.5 million tonnes.

CHINA - Silvercorp quarterly income down 34%

Silvercorp Metals has reported a significant reduction in net income for the final 2013 fiscal quarter compared to the corresponding 2012 quarter. The company cites higher production costs, lower metal prices and falling metal output for the 34% drop which will result in the annual income reducing by half to $37 million.

COAL - China considers new quality standards

A draft regulation from the National Energy Administration (NEA) could see China set new quality standards for both imported and domestic traded thermal and coking coal, and prohibit the import and domestic delivery of coal that do not meet the new standards. The NEA is preparing the new regulation with the aim to reduce air pollution, and is seeking feedback from the coal industry.  1
