A phase one drilling program is under way at Manas Resources’ Shambesai Gold Prospect with two diamond drill rigs in operation.
The Shambesai prospect is part of the Shambesai-Obdilla Gold Project which contains a total indicated and inferred mineral resource of 1.13 million ounces of gold.
The current drill program includes about 4000 metres of diamond drilling to test extensions to the high-grade oxide mineral resource and the western extensions at the Shambesai prospect.
The current high-grade oxide mineral resource at Shambesai stands at 1.4 million tonnes @ 5.7 grams/tonne gold for 255,000 ounces of gold using a 2.5 grams/tonne gold cut-off grade.
Scoping studies are continuing on the entire oxide mineral resource of 3.15 million tonnes @ 3.3 grams/tonne gold for 330,000 ounces of gold at a 0.5 grams/tonne gold cut-off.
Civil unrest in Kyrgyz Republic has occurred in the region between the southern cities of Osh and Jalal-Abad, about 50km north of Osh.
Current reports are that humanitarian aid, in which Manas Resources is assisting, is having the desired effect and a rule-of-law is returning to the southern region.
The region west of Osh, where the Manas projects are centred, was unaffected during these events and operations have continued without any major disruption.
