Adani confirmed on 5 November that, to mark its 10-year anniversary of operations in Australia, it was launching a new brand for its mining business: Bravus Mining and Resources.
Bravus, which will retain its presence in Queensland, will be steered ahead by CEO David Boshoff.
Boshoff noted that, with construction on the Carmichael coal project now in process, giving Adani's Australian mining business a new moniker at this time was ideal.
“Our 10 years in Australia has been a journey that has tested the resilience, skills and determination of our people and has confirmed the depth of our commitment to regional Queensland,” he said.
“We have made a significant investment in Queensland and we will be here for the long haul employing local people and doing business in Australia.”
As for Carmichael, Boshoff said the mine currently has 1,500 people employed for work on the mine and rail projects, 100% of which live in Queensland. More jobs will come as the complex grows closer to its 2021 recording of first coal.
As Carmichael advances, he added, the new Bravus name will become increasingly well-known; the brand will continue to roll out next year ahead of the mine’s start-up.
