ESG Solutions, a leader in microseismic technology and services, has expanded its Australian operations through its partnership with Australian consulting agency, MiningOne. With this partnership, ESG has relocated staff experienced in array design, installation, advanced analysis and technical support from its Canadian headquarters to operate out of the MiningOne office in Perth, Australia.
Microseismic monitoring is routinely applied to underground and open-pit mine operations to enhance production, decrease costs, and reduce economic, operational and environmental risk. The technology provides real-time feedback on mining induced seismicity within the surrounding rock, and may take the form of comprehensive mine-wide systems or temporary, portable units for specific applications, such as blast or vibration monitoring.
“ESG presents many advantages as a microseismic supplier in the Australian market, and we are excited to provide new options to clients who are looking for reliable and powerful microseismic solutions,” says ESG’s Mining and Geotechnical Services executive vice-president Cezar Trifu. “As a pioneer in the provision of microseismic monitoring solutions across multiple industries, ESG continues to innovate and improve passive microseismic technology and analytical techniques to ensure that operators receive maximum value from their seismic systems.”
Active in Australia for nearly 17 years, ESG installed its first microseismic system in an underground mine in Western Australia in late 1997. With the Perth office now staffed with qualified personnel, Cezar Trifu looks forward to developing deeper relationships with clients in Australia.
“We believe that a consistent local presence of technical experts, while further leveraging the existing infrastructure of MiningOne, will allow ESG to provide a much higher level of service for existing clients while reaching out to new clients in the Australian market,” he says.
ESG has also invested in similar business expansion in South America and Africa, and continues to prioritize its mining and geotechnical services division amid tremendous company growth. www.esgsolutions.com
