The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) will host PACRIM 2015 at the Conrad Hotel, Hong Kong, from March 18-21. PACRIM is a quadrennial congress that focuses on research, exploration and development of mineral deposits around the Pacific Rim.
The appeal of PACRIM extends far and wide to geologists, geophysicists, geochemists exploring in the Pacific Rim and people interested in the mineralization processes of active tectonic margins, and those developing projects following discovery in these regions.
PACRIM 2015 will present more than 85 technical abstracts plus additional keynote presentations over a three-day period. The program will also include networking functions, pre and post conference workshops, technical tours, students program and optional sightseeing tours.
It will be the sixth event in the series with a high benchmark for quality and this is illustrated by the fact that more than 200 high-profile delegates have already registered from more than 130 industry organizations and 25 countries.
There are five confirmed technical tours, including site visits to regional China and Indonesia, while seven workshop hosts will present four workshop options both pre- and post-PACRIM 2015. The conference itself features eight world experts in their fields presenting keynotes.
Sponsors for the event include G-Resources, Leapfrog Software, Newcrest Mining, Anglo American, Dragon Global Group, ABIM Solution, Bilguun Erdes LLC, Eldorado Gold, Geos Mining, GNS Science, Mining Associates, Olympus and SciApps.
There is still time to register and delegates are also entitled to a 30% discount for the Mines and Money Hong Kong event, which follows PACRIM 2015.
