Intrepid Mines has appointed Scott Lowe as CEO and managing director following the resignation of Brad Gordon, who will further his career elsewhere. Scott Lowe was previously managing director and CEO of Blackthorn Resources and has held senior management roles with BHP Billiton, Peabody Pacific and P&O.

Nick Bowen has joined Orica Ltd as executive global head Mining Services, bringing with him a strong background in the mining and mining services sector spanning over 30 years. Most recently he was managing director at Macmahon Holdings, a position he held for 13 years. Orica has also appointed Craig Elkington as chief financial officer, replacing Noel Meehan.

Silvercorp Metals announces that Lorne Waldman has rejoined the company in the role of senior vice president after taking a one year sabbatical. Lorne Waldman has 16 years of experience in management of North American listed companies with operations in China.

Crazy Horse Resources announces that Jose D Leviste III has resigned as the company’s CEO. He remains as a director of the company. The company’s acting president and chairman Darryl Cardey will serve as interim CEO.

Monument Mining announces that Les Kwasik has been appointed as executive general manager, Monument Malaysia Group, resident in Malaysia. He has more than 40 years’ hands-on experience in delivery of operations success with discipline.

Stephen Wilkinson has joined the Board of Directors of Centurion Minerals. He is CEO and director of ValGold Resources, an international mining development company. Centurion also announces that Adrian Rothwell has resigned as chief financial officer and Kenneth Cawkell, a current director, replaces him as interim CFO.

At the annual general meeting of Southern Arc Minerals, Khalid Al-Obaidli, chief investment officer of existing shareholder Qatar Mining, was elected to its board of directors, while Danny Lee was appointed as its new CFO. Qatar Mining purchased a 9.99% interest in Southern Arc in June 2011 through its subsidiary, Tadeen Cyprus.

South East Asia Resources has appointed Jackob Tsaban as a non-executive director. He has 20 years’ experience in international financial, strategic planning and due diligence, including nine years as CFO of 3M Group Israel. He is also CFO of ORH Limited.

Robust Resources advises that non-executive director Andrew Wilson has resigned from the Board to pursue other business interests including an Indonesian-focused role with the company. He has accepted the important leadership role of commissioner of PT Gemala Borneo Utama, the local Indonesian subsidiary that owns the mining rights over Robust’s Romang Island projects.

Arc Exploration has entered into a consulting agreement with former managing director John Carlile. The agreement is for 4 months to coincide with the initial transition period of Dr Jeffrey Malaihollo who was appointed as new managing director and CEO on October 1.

Kingsrose Mining announces the appointment of experienced mining executive Scott Huffadine as managing director, effective from January 13. He is a geologist with more than 20 years’ experience in the resources industry, specifically in project management, geology and executive management. Tim Spencer, who has assumed the role of interim managing director will resume the role of executive director, finance.

Medusa Mining founder and chairman Geoff Davis has stepped down from his role to be succeeded by current non-executive Andrew Teo. Managing director Peter Hepburn-Brown hailed his contribution to the company, saying he will be remembered as the driving force that helped Medusa get to where it is.

Barisan Gold has appointed Steven Feldman as manager, investor relations. Steven Feldman has more than 13 years’ experience in investor relations for metals and mining companies listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Most recently, he has been involved with mining companies whose operations are in Asia, including SouthGobi Resources and TVI Pacific.
