Kingsrose Mining announces the appointment of experienced mining executive Scott Huffadine as managing director. A geologist with more than 20 years’ experience, specifically in project management, geology and executive management, he was most recently deputy chief executive at Straits Resources and has also held management positions at Westgold Resources and Metals X. He replaces Tim Spencer who was interim MD and is now executive director, finance.
Perpetual Resources announces the appointment of Mark Caruso and Ross Hastings to the Board. Ashley Kelly has stepped down. Mark Caruso is a director of Simto, which is involved in mining, earthmoving and civil engineering construction earthworks. Ross Hastings is a geologist with more than 20 years’ international experience in the minerals industry with a majority of that time working in PNG.
Guixin Zhao has been appointed CEO of Huakan International Mining with Pengzhi Guo stepping down as CEO but continuing as chairman. Guixin Zhao brings more than 30 years of mining and management experience to the company. He joined Tianjin Huakan Group in 1981 as a geologist.

Norman Moore
Strategic communications consultancy Cannings Purple announces the appointment of Norman Moore as chairman. The appointment follows Deidre Willmott’s decision to step down as chairman to accept the role of CEO at the Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Norman Moore has had a distinguished career in WA politics for more than 30 years before retiring from politics in May 2013. Cannings Purple has also announced the appointment of Karen Brown as national director.
Western Areas announces that founding shareholder and non-executive chairman Terry Streeter has pulled back from his commitments to the company by standing down from the Board, which has unanimously elected Ian Macliver as independent non-executive chairman.
Sparton Resources announces that chairman Edward G Thompson has reduced his activity in the junior mining sector and has resigned as a member of the Board and as corporate secretary. He had been associated with Sparton as a director and at various times its president and corporate secretary over three decades. Wes Roberts, a Sparton director, has been appointed corporate secretary.

Michel Denis
The Board of Manitou Group announces that president and CEO Dominique Bamas has resigned after being appointed on an interim basis in March 2013. He resigned in accordance with agreements made with the Board to permit the appointment of Michel Denis as new president and CEO for a four-year-term.
Indochine Mining chairman and non-executive director of Ian Ross has retired from the Board. After an extensive search initiated by Ian Ross, Hugh Thomas has accepted a position as a non-executive director and has been elected chairman. He has extensive experience in the mining industry, including as senior financial executive and investment banker in the Asia Pacific region.
