Weir’s new facility, located in Clayton, Victoria, Australia, combines both the Linatex® rubber lining service centre and Weir Technical Centre at one address.

With a history dating back to 1923, Weir’s Linatex® premium rubber has developed an unrivalled worldwide reputation for quality and is the rubber of choice for long lasting protection. The range of Linatex® products includes the highest quality rubber sheet, hose and screen media.

The Clayton rubber lining team is highly mobile, providing expert on-site service and support whenever customers need it. The Isomills that are lined on site at the Clayton facility are shipped to sites all around the world. Weir’s rubber lining specialists train new rubber liners not only in Australia, but also in countries such as Kazakhstan and Mongolia. With the continuation of investment in Service Centres through South East Asia, more training is yet to come.

The Weir Technical Centre (WTC) is dedicated to designing sise specific transport systems for mining operators using its proprietary pipe loop test facility, dewatering and separation capabilities together with its extensive experience in mining, tailings and backfill markets.

Additionally, the team at WTC has the technology and expertise to turn tailings into useful products, and has an excellent track record in creating a number of by-products including concrete, shotcrete and support structures.

This new facility provides the space to carry out the innovative projects the team are working on to reduce risk to customers, in respect to the final design, product selection and ultimately the success of their system.

Having both of these facilities in one place expands Weir Minerals’ global footprint, and also increases the company’s capability within APAC to ensure that the region continues to set the pace in wear lining and tailings applications.
