    Kalimantan Gold Corporation has signed a non-binding letter of intent with Tigers Realm Copper, a private Australian corporation within the Tigers Realm Group of companies, to purchase Tigers’ interest in the Beutong copper-gold project in Sumatra.

  • INDONESIA - Stratos funds for Yinchen Tin Project

    Stratos Resources has raised $106,000 through an oversubscribed share purchase plan to advance its Yinchen Tin Project in Indonesia. The company was originally seeking to raise up to $100,000 and the directors resolved to accept all subscriptions. It will now proceed to allot about 21.2 million shares.

  • INDONESIA - Altura to spin-off coal assets

    Altura Mining will spin-off its coal assets, which include stakes in two Indonesian coal mining projects, into a new company, Newco, that will be listed on the Singapore exchange with an initial public offering in early 2015. Newco will have a new board and Altura, which will be a controlling shareholder, is expected to hold two of the five board positions, including the chairman’s role.

  • INDONESIA - Minetech signs gold MoU

    Minetech Resources Bhd, whose core business is quarry mining in Malaysia, has announced plans to pursue new mining projects, particularly gold mining in Indonesia. Subsequently, the company has signed a memorandum of understanding with PT Gold Port Mineral.

  • Maiden Beruang Kanan copper resource

    Drilling at Kalimantan Gold’s KSK Contract of Work in Central Kalimantan.KALIMANTAN Gold Corporation has announced a maiden inferred resource of 47 million tonnes averaging 0.6% copper for 621.7 million pounds of copper at the Beruang Kanan Main (BKM) project within the KSK Contract of Work (CoW) in Central Kalimantan. Earlier this year the company regained 100% control of the KSK CoW after Freeport-McMoRan Exploration Corporation withdrew from a joint venture agreement.

  • Borneo triples production capacity

    BORNEO Resource Investments has completed a second processing area to extract gold from ore at its Ratatotok complex in northern Sulawesi. The company has also commenced production at a new heap leach processing area which has the capacity to process 5000 tonnes of ore per month.

  • ANTAM signs agreement with FLSmidth

    PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Danish company FLSmidth to supply design, testing and services for developing mining projects in and around Indonesia. The MoU was signed on September 3 by ANTAM’s president director Tato Miraza and FLSmidth Group CEO Thomas Schulz.

    A shallow mining pit at Indo Mines’ Jogjakarta Iron Project.A FINANCIAL analysis prepared for Indo Mines’ subsidiary PT Jogja Magasa Iron regarding the development of a pig iron project at Kulon Progo has found that on the basis of the current commodity price and cost inputs, the project is not economically viable. However, the analysis also indicates that the valuation is particularly sensitive to capital costs and financing structure.

  • INDONESIA – Excellent Randu Kuning test results

    Augur Resources has received excellent results from further metallurgical testing of the sulphide mineralization from the Randu Kuning deposit at the Wonogiri project in central Java.
    The metallurgical test work investigated gold only recovery process options including gravity separation and cyanide leaching along with other diagnostic leaches. For this test program, two sulphide ore composites were prepared.

    Altura Mining has received In-Principle Forest Area approval from the Indonesian Minister for Forestry for its 70%-owned PT Suryaraya Permata Khatulistiwa (SPK) IUP in the northern area of the Tabalong Coal Project in South Kalimantan. The approval area consists of 465.29 hectares and covers the greater proportion of the initial mining area planned for Tabalong.

  • Favourable Central Java survey results

    VANGUARD Mining Corporation’s Indonesian partner PT Raksasa Metal Agung has reported highly favourable results from a survey of a prospective gold and copper mining area in Karang Tengah District, Wonogiri Regency, Central Java. The survey revealed copper content of more than 14%, silver @ 17.50ppm and gold @ 9.20ppm.

  • First shipment from Talang Santo

    KINGSROSE Mining has completed the first shipment of gold and silver dore from the Talang Santo mine at its Way Linggo project in South Sumatra. It was the initial shipment of dore since the final approval to commence production at Talang Santo was received by Kingsrose on July 9.
