FLSmidth has joined the Copper Mark as a partner, citing its abilities as an enabler of sustainable mining.
According to the company’s group CEO Thomas Schulz, the move underscores its sustainable development and progress on its MissionZero ambition. Specifically, FLSmidth wants to aid its customers in a move toward zero energy, zero water waste and zero emissions by 2030.
“As a member of the copper supply chain, we acknowledge our role in supporting responsible production,” said Schultz.
“We encourage the mission and vision of the Copper Mark organisation, and we are committed to expressing preference for copper producers assured by its framework.”
The global Copper Mark organisation has members from all areas of the copper value chain, companies which either use or rely on copper and which have publicly committed to responsible copper production and sourcing.
