Lane Xang Minerals’ Sepon gold operation in southern Laos has selected Hexagon’s mining division for its forthcoming fleet management project.
Hexagon officials confirmed 18 August that it will deploy HxGN MineOperate OP Pro in the mine’s trucks, excavators and auxiliary equipment by the end of the year.
The mine already utilises Hexagon’s drill and blast solutions, according to Business Manager and General Manager of Sales Shane Boak, making the newest deal an extension of the companies’ partnership.
“HxGN MineOperate OP Pro will be critical for LXML to optimise the use of our mining fleet,” added Jimmy Yana, senior superintendent - mining operations excellence and contracts for Lane Xang Minerals. “We are excited to start this new journey in Sepon and look forward to working with Hexagon to maximise the value from their solution in our operation.”
Sepon, an open-pit project in the Savannakhet province that first opened in 2003, produced over 39,730 tonnes of copper and 64,809 ounces of gold dore in 2020.
