Engineering group CIMIC has tapped its executive general manager of operations Pedro Vicente to serve as its new chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Current executive chairman and CEO Juan Santamaria will continue to serve as executive chairman. Santamaria has also accepted a seat as CEO for Actividades de Construcción y Servicios, SA (ACS), the largest shareholder in HOCHTIEF, which is currently completing a 100% acquisition of CIMIC.
“Pedro has strong knowledge of our business and more than 25 years of international experience in the contracting industry. He has direct experience in our Australian and Asian operations, and formerly led Dragados Australia and Leighton Asia,” Santamaria said.
“I am confident CIMIC will continue its positive momentum – delivering important projects for Australian communities, employing locals, and contributing to national prosperity – under Pedro’s direction.”
Vicente is based in Sydney.
