Papua New Guinea (PNG)-focused operator K92 Mining has made changes to its executive team, promoting David Medilek to serve as president and Warren Uyen to the seat of chief operating officer (COO).

CEO and director John Lewins did not indicate the effective dates for the transitions, but did confirm that both have been significant contributors to the company’s growth and success.
Medilek, a 15-year veteran of mining capital markets, corporate strategy and technical operations, had most recently served as the company’s vice president of business development and investor relations for more than three years. He was previously an equity research analyst for precious metals companies, a mining investment banker and a mining engineer with Barrick Gold.
Uyen, a mining engineer with over 30 years of experience in the mining industry in Australia and Asia, previously was K92’s senior vice president of operations for over four years. He joined K92 from Australian mining contractor MacMahon Holdings, where he was executive general manager of underground operations. Prior to this, Uyen was general manager of Eldorado Gold’s White Mountain gold mine in China.
Canadian-based K92 Mining produces gold, copper and silver from the Kainantu gold mine in PNG.
